Minor in East Asian Languages and Cultures

Hours	Requirements
5	Students must have taken the following course in the respective language:1
	CHIN 204-Intermediate Chinese II or CHIN 242-Chinese Reading and Writing
	JAPN 204-Intermediate Japanese II
	KOR 204-Intermediate Korean II or KOR 241-Korean Reading and Writing III
15	Non-language courses as follows:
	EALC 120-East Asian Civilizations or EALC 135 Understanding EA Culture & Soc
	12 additional hours of East Asia-related courses (at least 6 of these hours must be at the 300 or 400 level)
20	Total
1. Students granted an exemption from this requirement by placement examination must take two additional courses from East-Asia-related offerings. Note: Completion of CHIN 204 or 242, JAPN 204, or KOR 204 or 241 satisfies the LAS foreign language requirement.
